The Immaculate Heart of Mary Church at Kalena Agrahara started off this year's Catechism with a half-day orientation for the Catechism teachers on Sunday, June 09, 2024.
The session was attended by 17 teachers and started with a welcome by the Parish Priest Father Balaraju SJ, and a talk was given by Fr Olvin Veigas, SJ. Fr Veigas dealt with answering several questions like
What is the importance of faith formation and catechism in the Church and in the life of children?
2. What are the Fundamentals of teaching catechism?
3. Why we must teach catechism?
4. What must fascinate us to keep teaching catechism?
This was followed by a few Team-building activities for the Teachers.
All teachers were briefed about the revised Catechism rules and regulations, including updated Lesson plans, mid-term and annual assessments as well general dates about outings, group spiritual activities and important religious events for the Calendar year.
The Catechism classes will commence on Sunday 30th of June 2024. The afternoon ended with a Q & A session followed by lunch.
