Celebrating the Parish Annual Feast and Inaugurating the Silver Jubilee of the Parish
On June 18, 2023, we joyously celebrated the annual feast of our Parish. The festivities commenced with a splendid prelude, the Triduum, which commenced on June 15, 2023. On the very first day of the Triduum, we had the honour of witnessing Rev. Fr. Anthony Joseph SJ, the Rector of Mount St Joseph, raise our parish flag at 5:30 in the evening. The Eucharist celebrations occurred in both the English and Kannada languages over the course of three days.

The highlight of our celebration was the solemn bilingual Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Anand Prabhu SJ, approximately 15 concelebrants from the Mount St Joseph Community and neighbouring communities and parishes were present. This momentous Mass commenced at 9:30 in the morning, held under a magnificent pandal (tent) erected within the church premises, with a seating capacity accommodating around 1500 faithful.
During the Mass, Rev. Fr. Kannikaraj SJ passionately preached in Kannada, while Rev. Fr. John Pradeep SJ eloquently delivered his sermon in English, ensuring that the linguistic needs of our diverse congregation were met.
This year's feast took on special significance as it marked the commencement of the silver Jubilee year of our church building. The jubilee year was inaugurated with great pomp and ceremony as a select group of priests, nuns, and lay faithful, representing our large parish community, lit a special festive lamp.
Following this meaningful ceremony, a sumptuous meal featuring Ghee rice and Mutton curry was served, nourishing the hearts and bodies of around 2000 attendees who had gathered to partake in this majestic celebration.
As the day progressed, a grand Car procession added vibrancy to our festivities. Starting at 6:00 p.m. from the Church campus, the procession wound its way through Nirmal Jyoti Convent, Mount Saint Joseph, Holy Spirit Convent, Alverna Bhavan Convent, and concluded at the starting point, nearly four hours later, at 10:00 p.m.
This annual feast was a testament to the countless blessings bestowed upon all the faithful throughout these four days of meaningful celebration.
